My passion for photography began when I was very young, from there it has grown into more than just a dream but a pursuit for the perfect shot at the perfect moment. Initially I began shooting landscape photographs in 1996 during my first trip to Colorado. With my love for the outdoors it was not hard to find excitement in capturing the breathtaking mountain scenery on film. In the years following I became more obsessed with learning what I could about photography to feed my growing passion.

As a self taught photographer I have found no limits to what I am able to create. Through trail and error I have learned a technique and style that I can honestly call my own. It’s during this process as an artist I’ve learned to open my mind and learn from the surrounding environment. In the same way as other artists I just have a feeling when I know I’ve got THE shot. A few of my favorite photographers are: Ansel Adams , Jim Brandenburg , Sante D'Orazio and Helmut Newton.

A few years ago I decided to incorporate female nudes into my landscape photographs. I’ve always loved the curves and beauty of the female form so this was an easy addition to the natural beauty of the outdoors. When I get the chance I still find enjoyment in shooting landscapes photographs but for now the majority of my photography is black and white landscape artistic nudes.

Currently I am working on 2 projects that consume any free time I have. The first project is a 2009 Wall Calendar that will feature 12 black and white artistic nude photographs. As I sort through the past few years, I am working with a designer to narrow the photographs down to only 12 and develop a layout for my first annual artistic nude calendar.

The second project I continue to work on is a coffee table book that will contain over 120 black and white artistic nude photographs. Each shooting season I contribute a few more photographs to my goal of 120 breathtaking quality images that will be found in my first published book.

Eventually I hope to have the time and means to travel all over the world to work with female models in exciting and spectacular surroundings. Until then, I will continue to learn and grown as an artist with each photograph I take.

"My two favorite subjects are landscapes
and the curves of the female form. I feel
nothing compares to the beauty of these
two subjects merged together."

Note of Thanks:

I would like to thank a few people who have been very supportive with my work. First is my girlfriend Carolyn (Chalk Dust Studio) who designed my website and who is also an artist herself. She keeps me going everyday.

Next is my best friend and photographer Brian D. Smith, who I've known since the early 1990's. We push each other to become better and better at our art. He's a huge support of my work.

Finally I want to thank my parents Chuck and Shirley for all their love and support. They continue to encourage my passion with pride as well as financial contributions without hesitation.
